Guidance for the Reduction of Light Pollution
Notes to keep in mind...
- It is the intention of the ILE that the guidance notes cover all forms of exterior light, including street-lighting
- The values given for "after curfew" are also intended to cover all forms of exterior light, including street-lighting
- The light curfew scheme is suggested as a means of allowing facilities that have difficulty in achieving the full controls recommended to be able to operate at times which would reduce the impact to adjacent properties whilst still allowing the facilities to exist.
- The ILE do not intend that the "before curfew" levels in their Guidance Notes should be allowed to shine into windows all night long in any circumstances. The ILE recommends that intrusive light be restricted to the "after curfew" levels (maximum) for any lighting that remains on all night long.
